ISAPA 2027 – Amman, Jordan
ISAPA 2027 is envisioned as far more than a scientific symposium. It is designed as a global platform for dialogue, innovation, and collective action, bringing together scholars, practitioners, coaches, policymakers, and advocates who share a unified belief in the transformative power of adapted physical activity.
Under the slogan “Optimal Performance in Adapted Physical Activity,” the 26th International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity will be hosted in Amman, in the heart of Jordan—a unique geographic and cultural bridge between Asia, Europe, and Africa. This strategic location reflects our vision of ISAPA 2027 as a true meeting point of global knowledge, diverse cultures, and shared human values.
ISAPA 2027 seeks to advance scientific excellence while strengthening the link between research and practice. The Symposium will serve as a collaborative space for academic experts and elite coaches to exchange knowledge that supports the holistic development of children with disabilities in physical education, enhances the performance pathways of Paralympic and Special Olympics athletes, and promotes safe, accessible, and inclusive recreational physical activity for all individuals with disabilities. Central to our mission is the principle that every person deserves opportunities for physical activity in the least restrictive, most integrated, and most accessible environments possible.
Hosting ISAPA 2027 in Jordan offers not only scientific and professional enrichment, but also a rich cultural and human experience. Jordan is internationally recognized for its safety, hospitality, and openness. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with a living heritage that blends history, culture, and human warmth, while exploring world-renowned sites such as Petra, the Dead Sea, and the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ, alongside the vibrant life and history of Amman.
ISAPA 2027 is guided by a clear commitment to inclusion, equity, and global partnership. We envision a symposium where science meets practice, where policy connects with community, and where cultural exchange strengthens our shared responsibility toward building more inclusive societies through physical activity and sport.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I extend a warm invitation to researchers, professionals, educators, coaches, and advocates from around the world to join us in Amman in 2027. Together, we will shape a symposium that not only advances knowledge, but also strengthens global solidarity and transforms ideas into meaningful impact for individuals, communities, and future generations.

Golden Jubilee of ISAPA
The International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity (ISAPA 2027), held under the theme “Optimal Performance in Adapted Physical Activity,” represents a landmark global gathering of scholars, practitioners, and leaders in the field. IFAPA is an international scientific organization of scholars, practitioners, and students committed to advancing Adapted Physical Activity (APA). It promotes global cooperation, supports research, and facilitates the sharing of scientific knowledge and practical experience.
IFAPA coordinates national, regional, and international efforts related to sport, fitness, and wellness for individuals with disabilities.
It collaborates with major bodies such as the International Paralympic Committee, Special Olympics International, and ICSSPE, with English as its official language. ISAPA 2027 also coincides with the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of ISAPA, marking 50 years since the first symposium was held. This milestone highlights the long-standing global impact of ISAPA in shaping research, policy, and practice in adapted physical activity and inclusive sport.

ISAPA2027, MEFAPA and JSSREC Partnership
This edition of ISAPA is proudly organized through a strategic partnership between the Middle East Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (MEFAPA) and the Jordan Society for Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship, and Creativity (JSSREC), in collaboration with the Middle East region of adapted physical activity under the umbrella of International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity.
The JSSREC, representing both public and private universities across the Kingdom, plays a vital role in promoting scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
creating a strong academic and professional platform for advancing adapted physical activity in the region. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the advancement of inclusive practices across disciplines.
Hosted in Amman, this symposium underscores the growing role of the Middle East in contributing to the global APA movement. The partnership between regional and international organizations reflects a unified vision to foster innovation, bridge research and practice, and create sustainable opportunities for individuals with disabilities to achieve optimal performance in physical activity and sport.

Why “Optimal Performance in Adapted Physical Activity”?
Optimal performance in adapted physical activity goes beyond winning competitions. It focuses on maximizing the potential of individuals with disabilities through scientific training, inclusive education, evidence-based practice, and accessible environments.
