Dr. samir H. Qasim<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Samir H. Qasim<\/strong>\u00a0is an Associate Professor of Adapted Physical Activity at the Department of Sport Sciences at Yarmouk University. He completed his PhD in Education\/Adapted Physical Activity from the University of Edinburgh in 2015. Dr. Qasim teaches Adapted Physical Education course at the undergraduate level and Coaching Individuals with Disability course at the postgraduate level. Eight master students completed their theses in Adapted Physical Activity under Dr. Qasim\u2019s supervision. Furthermore, he published several original articles in the international journals and participated as an oral presenter in international conferences in the field of Adapted Physical Activity. Currently, Dr. Qasim is a General Secretary & Webmaster of the Middle East Federation of Adapted Physical Activity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Ashraf<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Ashraf <\/strong>works as a professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Capital University, Cairo, specializing in adapted physical education. He has more than 40 years of experience in the fields of teaching, scientific research & supervision, leadership, and management. In addition to his previous experience as a swimmer and Paralympic medalist, Dr. Ashraf has extensive experience in international work with both the International Paralympic Committee and Special Olympics. He has been a member of the Athletes’ Council and the Scientific Committee of the International Paralympic Committee. He worked as a coach of the Egyptian national swimming team for athletes with intellectual disabilities. He was a board member of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee for a long time before being the president of it in 2011. <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tshow more\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n

Besides his membership in the Scientific Committee of the International Paralympic Committee Conference VISTA 2023 & 2025, he is the founder of Special Olympics Egypt in 1994. As an advisor for Disability Affairs to the Capital University\u2019s president, and as a former Secretary General of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities in Egypt, his experiences have extended to the development of policies and strategies, and capacity building at the national, regional, and international levels, especially in the fields of inclusion and the rights of persons with disabilities. Dr. Ashraf has received a Fulbright Research grant and has participated as a visiting professor at some universities in the United States and Germany. He has participated as a keynote speaker and lecturer at many international and national conferences, seminars, and training courses. In 2025, UNESCO selected Dr. Ashraf to prepare the “Trainer’s Guide in Inclusive Physical Activities” in English and Arabic.<\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tshow less\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Jooyeon Jim<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Jooyeon Jin<\/strong>\u00a0is a Full Professor in Dept. of Sport Science at University of Seoul (UOS), Korea where he serves as a director of Adapted Physical Activity and Health Laboratory. He completed his Ph.D. in 2012 at Oregon State University and worked as an assistant professor at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, USA before joining UOS in 2016. His overarching goal is to guide individuals with disabilities to obtain health benefits and live best life through healthy 24 hours being physically active, minimizing sedentary behavior, and achieving sufficient sleep. Dr. Jin currently serves on six editorial boards of academic journals.

Prof. Peter Bukhala<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Peter Bukhala<\/strong> holds an APA Master\u2019s degree from McGill University- Canada and a PhD in Disability sports studies from Kenyatta University \u2013Kenya. His expertise is in programme planning for inclusive physical activities. He was instrumental in the development of the Camp Shriver sports programme at Kenyatta University (documented by Reuters and viewed across Africa); that provides inclusive opportunities for youngsters with and without disabilities to interact and acquire sports skills. He was a Eunice Kennedy Shriver Fellow (2009) and a member of the Global steering committee for the development of the Special Olympics International Strategic Plan: 2010-2015. Prof. Bukhala has served as a member of the Fitness Advisory Committee (Special Olympics International).\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tshow more\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n

Prof. Perreault<\/strong>\u00a0is a Professor of Motor Behavior in the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education and Interim Associate Director of the Honors College at SUNY Brockport. She also co-directs the Institute of Movement Studies for Individuals with Visual Impairments or Deafblindness. Dr. Perreault\u2019s main area of research focuses on motor development in children with sensory impairments. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, contributed to eight book chapters, co-authored a leading motor development textbook, and frequently presents at national and international conferences. Dr. Perreault and her research team received the Corinne Kirchner Research Award from the American Federation for the Blind and the Special Recognition Award from the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation for their contributes to the field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Selina Khoo<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Selina Khoo<\/strong>\u00a0is a Professor at the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Science, Universiti Malaya. Her research is related to participation of sports and physical activity for various populations, including older adults, persons with disabilities, women, and cancer survivors. This includes determining prevalence of physical activity, motives for participation, and interventions to increase physical activity. She has led and participated in numerous multi-disciplinary and multi-country research with collaborators in Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, and South America. She has served on international committees including the Commonwealth Advisory Body on Sport (CABOS) and the Development Committee of the Far East and South Pacific Games for the Disabled (FESPIC) Federation. Selina is currently the country contact for Malaysia on the Global Observatory for Physical Activity as well as the Global Observatory for Physical Education, and a director of the Asian Society for Adapted Physical Education and Exercise (ASAPE).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Jolanta Marsza\u0142ek, PhD, Associate Professor<\/strong>, is an esteemed physiotherapist, researcher, academic teacher, and the\u00a0Vice-Rector for Teaching<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0J\u00f3zef Pi\u0142sudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw\u00a0(AWF Warsaw) for the 2024-2028 term. Associated with the Faculty of Rehabilitation since 2012, she integrates academic excellence with international advocacy for sport for people with impairments. She Specializes in physical culture sciences, with a primary focus on\u00a0Para-sports<\/strong>, particularly wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball. Her research covers sports classification and the physical fitness of people with impairments. Academic Roles<\/strong>: She is Vice-Rector for Teaching at AWF Warsaw.

She completed her PhD in cotutelle between the University of Porto and the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) in 2012. T\u00e2nia teaching and research interests focus on the cross-disciplinary field of APA with emphasis on the psychosocial aspects. Emma is passionate about engaging in research to improve the lives of people with a disability through sports, physical activity, and exercise. Following a master\u2019s degree in Adapted physical activity, Emma completed her PhD in strength assessment for classification in Para Sport. She is currently a co-investigator in the UQ IPC Classification Research Partnership, and an internationally accredited classifier in Para Athletics. She currently acts in a conjoint position between UQ and the\u00a0Queensland Academy of Sport and Paralympics Australia where she is appointed as the Para Sport High Performance Manager. Emma\u2019s research spans grassoots physical activity and high performance para sport and she has a particular interest in athletes with high support needs.\u00a0

He holds a BSc from Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), an MSc from the University of Western Australia (Perth), and a PhD from the University of Birmingham (UK).u003cbru003eAli currently serves as the President of the Oman University Sports Committee (OUSC) and previously served as the Vice Chairman of the Omani Basketball Association (OBA) from 2020 to 2024. He is also a former member of the Omani national basketball team.
